About our potato seed breeding technology
Potato minituber is also called pre-basic TC potato seed. The minitubers are bred by potato tissue culture technique, which not only affects the quality of minituber, but also indirectly decides the yield of the following generation, i.e. G1 seeds, G2 seeds.
After replanting for several generation, the potato quality degrades, virus accumulate inside the tuber. This tuber is no longer suitable to serve again as potato seed. Therefore, the new batch of virus-free potato minitubers are needed.
Potato tissue culture technique aims to produce virus-free microplants, during this process, virus will be removed at the early stage. The microplants will be later transferred into greenhouse for minituber production.
